Candida Spit Test A Waste Of Time?

By Christine T Johnson

Candida infection can be hard to diagnose due to the fact that it has a long list of possible symptoms that can also be caused by many other circumstances or problems, so it makes at times difficult to pinpoint a Candida invasion, and here is where the spit test comes handy.

The Candida Spit Test consist in spitting saliva after waking up in the morning, in a clean glass of pure water at room temperature, and checking it every 15 minutes up to one hour. Under this test, you are positive for Candida if you see legs going down from the saliva on the top, and/ or, if cloudy saliva sinks in the bottom of the glass. You are negative if after an hour the saliva is still floating and there are no legs coming out from it.

This test is totally unreliable, it can tell you that you have a Candida infection when you are perfectly healthy, and worst, it can test negative when there is an actual Candida overgrowth in your body. It is said that the Candida Spit Test was created for commercial value by companies that produce probiotics with the only purpose to increase sales. It is not un-natural that our saliva will do something in a glass of water, and after an hour, without air bubbles, it will sink because it is almost always heavier than water in the morning, when we just woke up. Candida albicans can be diagnosed with culture tests of our mucus, blood or urine; however the results might not be 100% reliable. With a blood antibody test, measuring antibodies for Candida, it can be without doubt determined if we have a yeast infection or not, and its extension.

Also a very dependable test is the Candida Elisa test, which determines if there are Candida antibodies present in our saliva. Another simple way, is to investigate a mucous sample under the microscope, looking for traces of Candidiasis, this is a cheap form to find out fast if we have a yeast infection, although we will not be able to know the extended of it. Because of the long list of Candida symptoms it very often that people self diagnose a Candida infection in search for a solution for what is wrong with them. In any case, if a Candida infection is suspected, it is advisable to be professionally tested as soon as we can, because eventually a yeast infection will pierce our intestinal flora and it will get in our bodies blood stream affecting other systems. This is constitutes an open door for waste and food to leak out, affecting our immune system by overtaxing it, producing countless allergies. It can get to deadly proportions if not treated on time, fungus infections are very serious, they can lead to arthritis, Crohn’s disease, Asthma and even Cancer.

At the end, it is suggested not to waste time with inconclusive and unreliable tests, because we might end up paying more moneywise and health wise. It is a risk that we should not take.
